Tig Welding – (GTAW – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) or (TIG – Tungsten Inert Gas)
Is an arc welding process which joins metals by heating them with a non-consumable tungsten electrode which will not form part of the completed weld.
A consumable filler metal may or may not be added manually, semi-automatic or with full automation.
Inert gases are used for shielding purposes to prevent atmospheric contamination.
